Titanium
valves

Characterised by a lower weight than steel (35-40%) and by coatings with a very low coefficient of friction, titanium alloy valves have applications in engines that require a significant reduction in the inertial mass of the distribution. The introduction of these valves with appropriate measures of design can achieve a lowering of 2-3% in fuel consumption, a reduction in mechanical noise of 5-10 decibels and an increase in the regime of rotation of the engine.

SCARPA & COLOMBO produce titanium alloy valves both for the racing market and for mass production.

The titanium valves manufactured by SCARPA & COLOMBO are machined entirely by CNC technology and the raw material is produced according to MIL (military) standards.

All the stages of production of titanium valves are verified and recorded by statistical process control (SPC). The heat treatment and surface coatings are the result of the experience gained in the motorsport context.

SCARPA & COLOMBO assist the customer in the choice of titanium alloy, heat treatment and surface coating for the application planned.
